This photograph shows the newly cleaned panels on one wing of an Electric Butterfly™ array after power washing. This washing is performed approx. every 2 years.  There is an optional coating that increases the power harvesting which could be used, but periodic washing is still necessary.

"Manhattan Project" necessary to rescue the United States energy programs.

The existing U.S. energy categories consist of fossil fuels, nuclear power, wind power and solar power.

Wind has its obvious limitations. For example, when there is a high pressure system and heat wave moves through, wind does not generate sufficient power (power drops by approx. 95%.

The fossil fuel sector is both presently necessary and damaging to the U.S. climate and economy as well as the global climate and economy.

In view of the above, a "Manhattan Project" for U.S. solar power is necessary. Billions of dollars will be needed to complete this project.  The reduction of fossil fuels that power the U.S.A. grid should be well-coordinated with the introduction of solar power, which includes night-time power storage, so as to eliminate any energy shortage powering utilities or vehicles.

CIGS cells could hit efficiencies of 33%, say Germany scientists.

Researchers have gradually improved the efficiency of CIGS thin-film tech in recent years. But scientists in Germany say the 23% rate achieved thus far is not the end of the story.

The following list is based on Google data (March 2022), many countries are forging ahead to implement renewable electric energy, whereas the U.S.A. is still dwarfed in comparison.  One reason for this is that elected officials in government thwart development of renewable energy because they receive campaign contributions from the oil and gas industry.

Cadmium-free CIGS Photovoltaic technology makes it possible for the U.S.A. to execute a modern day "Manhattan Project" to replace most oil and gas used for fossil fuels.
